With the theme "The Voice of the Industry," this event will bring together key maritime stakeholders to discuss challenges and opportunities across sectors such as technology, regulations & compliance, the environment, and finance. Our partner, Dr Nicholas Valenzia, will be attending the summit and serving as a moderator for a panel discussion on Friday, 11th October.

Mamo TCV Participates in Malta Shipping Symposium

Partner Dr Nicholas Valenzia and Associates Dr Aleandro Mifsud and Dr Alexia Pollacco attended the Malta Shipping Symposium which took place on the 30th of May 2023 at the Malta Chamber of Commerce. The event was organized by Transport Malta, the Ministry for Transport, Infrastructure and Capital Projects, the Malta Maritime Law Association and the Malta International Shipowners Association. The symposium celebrated the 50th anniversary of Malta’s Merchant Shipping Act bringing together numerous stakeholders from the local and international shipping industry and provided a forum for discussion on Malta’s past achievements in the sector and the potential for future growth.…

Dr Ingrid Fenech participated in the Society Education Annual Conference on Aspects of Maltese Company Law held on 29th November, where she delved into the recent amendments to the Companies Act introducing the notion of cell companies carrying on or engaged in shipping or aviation business. With this introduction into local law, the shipping and aviation sectors in Malta now have an effective tool with which to segregate and protect the cellular and other assets of the company from the core cell company and from other individual cells, allowing for the structuring and ring-fencing of each cell.
