Mamo TCV Advocates is pleased to announce that Katya Tua, partner of the Investment Services and Funds practice area, has been recognised as one of the IFLR1000 Women Leaders for 2022, one of only three women to earn such a ranking in Malta. As a founding partner of Simon Tortell and Associates in 2009, which firm merged with Mamo TCV in 2016, Katya has a wealth of experience. Her team specialises in the structuring and licensing of collective investment schemes mainly UCITS, alternative investment funds and professional investor funds. They have advised clients on different structures which include multi-fund and multi-class funds, funds of funds, tracker funds and master/feeder structures. Specifically, Katya’s team assist clients with the preparation of offering documents and supplements, the incorporation of investment fund vehicles in Malta, the drafting of the Fund’s constitutional documents and all agreements with service providers, the drafting of investor documentation.
The team also provides legal advice on different aspects of Maltese financial services and prevention of money laundering legislation, and assists in co-ordinating with all the Fund’s service providers. They provide assistance on the development of alternative investment policies and strategies and investment in less traditional, alternative and complex asset classes, as well as in the notification process for Notified Alternative Investment Funds (NAIFS).
