Aleandro Mifsud is an Associate within the Shipping and Aviation departments at Mamo TCV Advocates. He specializes in advising banks, asset owners, lessors, borrowers, and operators on domestic and international leasing and financing arrangements for aircraft and vessels. Aleandro also manages the day-to-day ship registry matters for a large portfolio of yachts and ships, ensuring compliance with international maritime regulations. He is committed to providing efficient, client-focused legal services that align with the dynamic needs of the shipping and aviation industries.

In addition to his legal pursuits, Aleandro is also a semi-professional waterpolo player with Barracudas Sports Club and serves as the Secretary General of the Malta Beach Soccer Association.

  • Advises on the acquisition of significant interests in a number of aircraft operators and the restructuring thereof.

New Requirements Under ODS Licensing Regime for Aircraft Imports and Exports

New licensing requirements under Regulation (EU) 2024/590 of the European Parliament and of the Council of 7th of February 2024 on substances that deplete the ozone layer (the “Regulation”) will become applicable on the 3rd of March 2025. The Regulation provides for the licensing of the import and export of ozone-depleting substances (“Ozone-Depleting Substance/s” or “ODS”). Any aircraft that is imported to or exported from the EU is required to obtain an ODS license for customs purposes.
